Fantasy setting GEÁRR VILLAGE

Declared by treaty to be neutral ground between Human and Elf, Geárr Village is a small fishing community, located north of Nannerth Coille forest, on the edge of Loch Graves. Known for being the only settlement in Albocincta with a significant non-human population, notably Elves. This has led to a large percentage of Half-Elves in Albocincta hailing from Geárr. They worship the Goddess Eldath and are protected by the Druids of the First Circle.

Industry & trade: Delicacies from Loch Graves are traded with both Sevenoaks and Nannerth Garol.

History: Before the war, Geárr had been an Elvish settlement at the base of the cliffs known as ‘The Stairs’. The Humans dammed up the river that flowed through it as part of their ecological campaign of terror, seeking to impose order over the natural world. It was here that the Human army made camp, while the shattered remnants of King Arranis’ defeated army had retreated and regrouped just a few scant miles away. With their King dead and victory seemingly out of grasp, the Elvish war council decided to seek a truce. However a faction wanted to continue the effort and saw an opportunity to strike a devastating blow against their enemy by destroying the dam and washing away their foe. The plot succeeded, but they had also inadvertently flooded miles of the surrounding area, killing thousands of humans and elves alike. (Ironically, because of this the humans, who had until now been sceptical of signing a truce while they had such a large advantage, were now in favour of one, while the bickering elves descended into a civil war between the pro-peace and pro-war factions.) In the immediate aftermath however, the resultant havoc left those who remained in a desperate bid for survival, and no longer having the will to fight each other instead lent aid to one another. This inspired the Goddess Eldath to appear before them. In awe at the stillness her presence brought to them, they vowed to forsake all violence and keep vigil over the newly created lake that had become a watery grave for so many and eventually the village became the location where the peace treaty was signed, with Geárr being declared neutral ground for all time.
